The Shop of the Lamp

At the end of a dark alley lies a store selling lights, where strange people frequent. The owner of the store isn't at all surprised about their frequent visits, but warns the regular customer, a girl who buys lightbulbs, to be careful of these people... What is it that has happened to them?
